Nauset Light Beach was closed today after a shark killed and devoured a seal just offshore.
The incident was reported to lifeguards, who immediately banned swimming at the popular beach.
The beach remained closed to swimming until 2 PM.
The sighting was reported to the Sharktivity app. The stack was said to be 200 yards offshore.
Several beaches on Cape Cod have been closed to swimming temporarily this summer, following either sightings by humans or a tagged shark registering on whatever theyou track them by.
