Upper Cape RVT 15, Southeastern RVT 14

We rolled deep to the Upper Cape RVT vs Southeastern RVT game on Saturday.

We caught the 4th quarter, which is 25% of the game, but we got 100% of the drama.

It was 7-7 when we arrived, but we arrived in time for Southeastern to snuff UCRVT within the 10 yard line.

We usually try to get the band and the cheerleaders, but we showed up after halftime... so we missed the band (if they even had one) and only got a side shot of the cheerleaders. I know the coach at Bourne High, so I can get posed group shots of her squad. Beyond that, I have a sort of creepy look about me, and "OK girls, gather 'round and look peppy" often gets me escorted from the premises.

The field at Upper Cape is new, and the snack bar has fried dough... always a plus.

The action heated up in the 4th. UC got snuffed at the goal line, forced SE into a three-and-out, blocked the punt, got snuffed inside the red zone... high pigskin drama. If I am correct, here is SE going up a touchdown in the video below.

UC didn't wilt, however.

They stopped SE a few times, and got the ball back for a final drive.

Every member of Southeastern's coaching staff looked like an angrier Mike Tomlin.

This kick and the one in the video below are different kicks... I'm fast, but not THAT fast.

Smelling a score, I posted up in UCT''s end zone.

While this huddle was going on, the loudest coach was circling it, screaming "STICK THEM!!!"

Tension was high on the SE sideline, especially with the non-Tomlin looking coach.  

Instead of kicking the PAT to tie the game, Upper Cape decided to go for 2, and, concurrently, the win.

The refs have a quick meeting, where they discuss the chances of UCT running the two point conversion play right at Stephen. "He might start yelling YEAH KID over and over at the ball carrier," said one ref. "Nah, not to worry, journalists are impartial, even if they are from Bourne."
