Surf Check: Westport

With Hurricane Chris churning offshore, we decided to go down to Westport to check out the surf on the south-facing beaches. Rain was imminent, so we skipped paying Horse Neck Beach and instead shot from Gooseberry Island.

The surf wasn't that impressive. There were swells washing in, but the storm had already hooked east of us, and I don't think that any wave broke 2 feet in height while I was there.

A trip to Westport is never wasted... they have a cute harbor, and a different arrival time may have got us bigger surf, but we can only show you what the sea showed us.

The swells did seem to increase in size from when we showed up to when we left. Roll down there at high tide, maybe you'll have better luck.

We may try the Outer Cape tomorrow.
